Why do Carmelo think people cares where he goes?

I could understand Lebron at 25 and a younger Kobe because those guys are going to be top ten players at worst when they retire. Carmelo at best might be top 30-35 of all time and unless he goes to the Bulls he is not going to win a ring the next 2 years. His only hope is Chris Paul decides to join him after 2012.
